The Challenge

Installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in residential buildings, especially multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs), presents several technical challenges.

In Canada, according to this study, approximately 1/3 of residents live in residential buildings and only a fraction have access to EV Charging. 

In the United States, about 31.4% of housing consists of multifamily residences (which include MURBs).

In British Columbia, 82.4% of total residential building registrations are for multi-unit homes, indicating a significant proportion of the population living in MURBs.
