One of our latest projects, located at 2440 Albert St, Rockland, ON, exemplifies our commitment to sustainability. This development features a three-storey building with three townhouses and 21 parking spaces dedicated to residents and visitors. Recognizing the growing importance of electric vehicle (EV) readiness, we have decided to enable all parking spaces with EV charging capabilities.
Leading the Way in EV Ready Developments.
Although the zoning by-law, section 611, coming to Ottawa will require every parking space in new buildings to be equipped with level 2 EV charging, this regulation does not apply to our project in Rockland. However, given Rockland’s proximity to Ottawa, we believe that future-proofing our development by incorporating EV charging will keep it competitive in the real estate market.
Enabling EV Ready all parking spaces is made possible through JPlug.io’s advanced power management software that efficiently distributes the power among users. Traditional buildings, even new ones, often lack the capacity to supply EV charging to every resident due to space constraints and the high cost of additional electrical infrastructure. JPlug.io’s smart billing system addresses these challenges by measuring the energy used in each charging session, billing the user directly, and reimbursing the building for the electricity consumed. This innovative solution not only reduces the need for extensive electrical upgrades but also provides convenience to our future residents.
