A New Partnership Amid Tariffs With FractalEV

JPlug provides advanced software solutions for EV charging, and our preferred hardware partner is FractalEV. With recent discussions around potential tariffs in the US and Canada, we want to assure our customers that these changes will not impact your ability to access charging hardware at the prices you expect.

Tariffs and EV charging services remain a key focus for us as we navigate these evolving policies. FractalEV has always managed its US and Canadian operations separately, ensuring that chargers are stocked and distributed efficiently without unnecessary border crossings. This approach helps avoid potential tariff-related disruptions.

Common Questions About Tariffs and FractalEV Chargers

Where are FractalEV chargers manufactured?

FractalEV is a Canadian company. While its software is developed in Canada and all data is stored in North America, the physical chargers are manufactured through a contract manufacturer in China.

If chargers are made in China, why don’t I pay tariffs?

FractalEV imports chargers directly into the country of sale and acts as the importer of record. This means that any applicable tariffs are already accounted for in their business model, ensuring stable pricing for JPlug customers.

Will new tariffs on Chinese imports raise my costs?

While FractalEV may face increased import costs, they have proactively taken steps to minimize any impact. By securing a strong inventory position in the US ahead of potential tariff increases, they have mitigated the immediate effects of new tariffs. As a result, JPlug does not anticipate any pricing changes due to tariff adjustments.

Where are FractalEV chargers stocked?

FractalEV maintains warehouses in California for US customers and Ontario for Canadian customers. This ensures fast, reliable delivery anywhere in North America, typically within one week.
